Theatre Cares Vancouver is a volunteer-based organization that unites the generous spirit of Vancouver's performing arts community with its supporters to raise funds and awareness for HIV/AIDS relief and other worthy causes.

Each year, proceeds are divided among HIV/AIDS relief agencies, the Actors' Fund of Canada and a third charity, selected annually by the committee. During Theatre Cares Week each February, Vancouver's theatres help raise funds for these all-important charities.

For 2006, the 25-year "anniversary" of the onset of the AIDS epidemic, all funds raised by Theatre Cares will go to HIV and AIDs-related charities. Our "third charity" this year is Camp Moomba, a summer camp for children with HIV/AIDS that is run by the Western Pediatric AIDS Society.

During Theatre Cares Week from February 7-11 2006, we presented a week-long reading series of plays giving voice to the AIDS crisis. Our Silent Auction also ran all week long at the Waterfront Theatre.

Tune in later this fall for information on Theatre Cares Week 2007!
